A six-year-old girl is in critical condition and her mother has been charged with attempted murder after she was stabbed several times in the abdomen at an apartment building in London, Ont. on Thursday.
Police responded to a report of a stabbing at 114 Arbour Glen Cres. Thursday morning and located the girl in an apartment unit.
The girl was rushed to hospital where she underwent surgery for numerous stab wounds. She remains in critical condition in hospital.
The girl’s mother, 29-year-old Erica Ehikwe, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with attempted murder. She is in custody awaiting a court appearance.
