Christian Women in Media Association - playing their great part

Connecting Women in Purpose and Vision

Who We Are

Founded in 2002, we are a movement of Christian women who are impacting our culture through media. Formerly known as Women in Christian Media, our new name of Christian Women in Media Association better describes who we are. Christian women in media have influence and opportunity to impact our culture for Christ...for such a time as this.

For Such a Time as This...
Christian Women In Media's theme is taken from Esther 4:14 as a powerful reminder that every day, and in every situation we need to be mindful of God’s purpose in our lives. We’re committed to helping women in our industry realize that purpose to its full potential— impacting our homes, work places, communities, churches and nation for Christ. And follow Esther’s example—to recognize God’s hand in our lives and respond. God has placed you where you are “for such a time as this…"

Our Mission Statement
Christian Women in Media Association (CWIMA) is a professional association dedicated toConnecting Women in Purpose and VisionWith a national platform focused on advancing Christian women in media, our members work in the fields of TV, Radio, Internet, Film, Publishing, Music, and Arts and Entertainment. Our organizational framework promotes and provides opportunities for industry networking, professional equipping, and spiritual refreshment.

Esther 4:14- For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your Father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?

Our Story

Suellen Roberts, President & Founder
Suellen Roberts, Founder & President
It all began in 2002 with God placing a desire in my heart to connect with other women in media. I contacted several women I knew in television, we prayed together and asked God for His leadership in beginning this association. The response and collective vision was overwhelming, as I saw they, too, had the same desire God had given me.
Through much prayer, stepping out in faith and trusting God for finances, Women in Christian Media (WCM) was born, and we quickly began to grow and gain members. Qualified women stepped forward to take on leadership roles, creating our Advisory Board. We started with the development of an annual reception on a national level, followed by quarterly receptions on regional levels. Our inaugural WCM National Conference convened in 2005, followed a year later by our first WCM Regional Connection in the Southwest.
Women in Christian Media (WCM) became Christian Women in Media Association (CWIMA), and today we are established in five regions across the country:

Southwest/Dallas, Southeast/ Nashville, Northeast/New York, Midwest/Minneapolis, and West Coast/Hollywood. Our annual national conference is in its eighth year, and we have held two exciting CWIMA National Music Showcases in Nashville, Tennessee.
Today, Christian Women in Media Association is one of the fastest growing organizations in the country, with an extensive online platform garnering global attention. Advancing Christian women who influence our culture through media, we are known by our love for each other and our love for Christ.
